Playing a list of videos with VLC

Sometimes more knowledge makes you miss simpler solutions. When I wanted to play several videos continuously I thought of using a video joiner and faced the problem of not able to join some of them because they had dissimilar frame rates and resolutions . Then I remembered that I had missed the obvious: the playlist feature provided in all video players. That served the purpose though I had to do a few settings on my VLC player. As instructions to do it were not easily available on the net I have posted what needs to be done for everyone’s benefit:

On VLC, go to Tools>Preferences

Select

Playlist

Under Playlist behaviour (on the right side of the window)

Select

Auto start

Use media library

Display playlist tree

Rename your videos with numerals as first letter, say from 01 ….. in the order of your preference. To play them select Folder under Media tab of VLC.

Have a nice presentation!
