Rajasthan University makes convocation gowns history

The graduation gowns (or convocation gowns) are a legacy of the British colonial era still followed by most universities in India. The students and the chief guest look like bishops and cardinals participating in a Church ceremony during the annual university convocation day. Rajasthan University broke the practice and opted for Indian dress for its convocation recently. At last, nearly seven decades after India’s Independence from the British, but I suppose it is better late than never.
